🌟 Introducing Millie: Our Fundraising & Development Intern 🌟
We are ecstatic to be introducing Millie, a rising junior at The University of Texas at Austin, who will be joining us as our dedicated Fundraising and Development intern this summer. Millie's passion for philanthropy and her commitment to promoting health equity worldwide make her an invaluable addition to our team. Let's dive into her inspiring journey and discover how her expertise aligns perfectly with our organization's goals.
During her freshman year, Millie had the privilege of participating in an Introduction to Philanthropy course funded by the university's Philanthropy Lab program. It was during this transformative experience that Millie first discovered our organization. Her group advocated for One Good Turn and earned a $5,000 donation to our organization! This early involvement showcases Millie's deep-rooted passion for philanthropy and her dedication to making a positive impact.
Building on her initial encounter with OGT, Millie's enthusiasm led her to join us as a grant writer. As a member of the Philanthropy Lab's Grant Writing Board, she actively identified new funding sources and played a pivotal role in promoting our mission. Millie's unwavering commitment to addressing health disparities through education resonates perfectly with our organization's vision for a brighter, more equitable future.
While excelling in her studies as a Nursing major, Millie is also pursuing a certificate for Nonprofits and Social Entrepreneurship with a focus on Healthcare. Post-graduation, Millie plans to work in critical care and pursue further education to become a certified registered nurse anesthetist, combining her passion for healthcare and her desire to make a lasting difference.
Outside of her professional endeavors, Millie finds joy in maintaining an active lifestyle. Running and exploring Austin's vibrant culinary scene with friends are among her favorite pastimes. Additionally, she immerses herself in captivating books, recently enjoying the Court of Thorn and Roses series. These interests contribute to Millie's well-rounded perspective and her ability to approach challenges creatively.
We are thrilled to have Millie continue as an essential component of our fundraising team, and eagerly anticipate the impact we will make together!
